Terms & Conditions of Sale (Digital Guides)
Effective date: [8 November 2025]
Version: 1.0 (UK – consumer)
1) Who we are
The website [https://your-HBSC-domain] (the “Site”) is operated by [Home Buying & Selling Council – legal name] (“HBSC”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in [England and Wales] under number [●] with registered office at [●].
Contact:Â [email protected]
2) What these terms cover
These terms apply when you buy digital content from us (our downloadable/online “Moving Made Clear” guides and any associated PDFs, worksheets or videos) through the Site. If you’re buying anything else (e.g., services, memberships, or physical goods), different terms may apply.
If you don’t agree to these terms, please don’t place an order.
3) Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version and date above show when they last changed. The terms in force at the time you place an order will apply to that order. If we need to change terms for an order you’ve already placed, we’ll let you know and you can cancel before accessing the content.
4) Privacy & cookies
Your personal data is used in line with our [Privacy Notice] and [Cookie Policy] (linked in the footer of the Site). Please read them before ordering.
5) Age restriction
You must be 18+ to purchase from the Site.
6) Our digital products
We work hard to describe and present our guides accurately. Images and mock-ups are for illustration. Minor differences in layout or formatting may occur across devices or updates.
7) Your account & access
You may need a Site account to access downloads. Keep your login details secure and don’t share them. We can suspend or disable accounts that breach these terms or our community rules.
8) Prices, taxes and payment
-
Prices are shown on the product page and checkout and include VAT where applicable.
-
We may change prices at any time, but the price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
-
Payment is taken securely by [Stripe] (or your selected method). Your bank may place authorisation holds.
9) How the contract is formed
Your order is an offer to buy digital content. The contract is formed when we send an order/dispatch confirmation (or when access to the digital content is first provided, if earlier).
10) Delivery of digital content
-
Delivery is by download link and/or online access (e.g., Kajabi library).
-
Access is usually immediate after payment, but please allow for email delays or routine maintenance.
-
If you have any access issues, email [email protected] and we’ll help.
11) Licence & permitted use (important)
When you buy a guide you don’t purchase the intellectual property — you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the digital content for your own private, non-commercial use.
You must not:
a) share, resell, publish, upload, or distribute our files or extracts;
b) remove logos, copyright notices or watermarks;
c) use the content to create competing products;
d) share your login or download links.
For business or multi-user licensing, email [support@HBSC-domain].
12) Your right to cancel (digital content)
By law, consumers usually have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase. However, for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium (our guides), you lose the right to cancel once download or streaming begins after you’ve been told this and you’ve given your express consent.
At checkout we’ll clearly ask you to confirm that:
-
you want immediate access to the digital content; and
-
you understand this means you lose the 14-day cancellation right once access starts.
If you haven’t accessed/downloaded the content and you haven’t given that consent, you can cancel within 14 days of purchase and we’ll refund you.
13) Refunds & problems with the content
-
If files are faulty, inaccessible, corrupted or mis-described, tell us within a reasonable time at [support@HBSC-domain]. We’ll repair/replace access or refund you where required.
-
Refunds are made to the original payment method.
-
We can’t refund if you changed your mind after accessing the content (see clause 12), but we’ll always help resolve technical issues.
14) Fair use & availability
We aim for the Site to be available at all times, but occasional downtime (maintenance, updates, third-party outages) may occur. We may update files to fix errors or improve clarity; you’ll continue to have access to the current version for your licence term.
15) Prohibited use
You agree not to use the Site or content unlawfully, to introduce malware, or to scrape or mine the Site. We may suspend access if we reasonably suspect misuse.
16) Third-party services
We use trusted providers to deliver the Site and payments (e.g., Kajabi, Stripe, Google). Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy notices.
17) Our responsibility to you
We’re responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We don’t exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so (e.g., for death/personal injury caused by our negligence or for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987).
Our digital content is for information and education. We don’t provide legal, financial or surveying advice tailored to your circumstances within the guides. We’re not liable for business losses (including loss of profit or opportunity) arising from consumer purchases under these terms.
18) Events outside our control
If an event beyond our reasonable control delays or prevents performance (e.g., platform outage, cyber incident, law changes, strikes, extreme weather), we’ll let you know and take steps to minimise the impact. If there’s a risk of substantial delay you may contact us to end the contract and receive a refund for anything not provided.
19) Complaints
We’d like the chance to put things right. Email [support@HBSC-domain] and we’ll respond promptly.
20) Transfer
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. You may not transfer your licence or rights without our consent.
21) Severance & waiver
Each clause operates independently. If a court finds part unlawful, the rest remains in force. Delay in enforcing these terms doesn’t waive our rights.
22) Law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by English law. You can bring legal proceedings in the UK country where you live (England & Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland).
