A Standard for Upfront Information

The Buyer’s and Seller’s Property Information (BASPI) form was developed by the HBSC with the Conveyancing Association to create a single, consistent source of verified property information.

It ensures that estate agents, conveyancers, lenders, and surveyors all work from the same dataset - reducing duplication, delays, and confusion.

The BASPI supports key reforms set out in the HBSC Plan for Reform and aligns with Material Information and reflects the RICS Data Standard.

How the BASPI Works

Developed collaboratively by industry leaders, the BASPI is the foundation of upfront information.

It brings together the essential details a buyer needs before viewing or offering on a property, helping to streamline the home-moving process.

The BASPI is divided into two parts:

Part A – Material Information:
Information that should be available before a property is marketed.

Part B – Legal Information:
Data required for conveyancing and due diligence once an offer is accepted.

Together, these ensure property information is complete, consistent, and ready to be shared between agents, conveyancers, and surveyors.
